HYMNS (KKV 2009)

Nearer My God, To Thee

Nearer my God, to Thee, nearer to Thee!
E`en thought it be a cross that raiseth me,
Still all my song shall be, nearer my God, to Thee.
Nearer my God, to Thee, nearer to Thee!

Though like the wanderer, the sun gone down,
Darkness be over me, my rest a stone.
Yet in my dreams I`d be, nearer my God, to Thee.
Nearer my God, to Thee, nearer to Thee!

Or, if on joyful wings, cleaving the sky,
Sun, moon and stars forgot, upward I`ll fly,
Still all my song shall be, nearer my God, to Thee,
Nearer my God, to Thee, nearer to Thee!

There in my Father`s home, safe and at rest,
There in my Saviour`s love, perfectly blessed,
Age after age to be, nearer my God, to Thee,
Nearer my God, to Thee, nearer to Thee!

Abide With Me

Abide with me, fast falls the eventide
The darkness deepens, Lord with me abide
When other helpers fail and comforts flee
Help of the helpless, O abide with me

Swift to its close ebbs, out life`s little day
Earth`s joys grow dim, its glories pass away
Change and decay in all around I see
O Thou who changest not, abide with me

I fear no foe, with Thee at hand to bless
Ills have no weight, and tears no bitterness
Where is death`s sting, Where grave thy victory?
I triumph still, if Thou abide with me

Oh Jesus, You Who Fill to Overflowing

oh Jesus, you who fill to overflowing
each heart you touch with mercy and with grace
I now, like Mary, kneel before you….knowing
that I have found a perfect resting place
my saviour when your glorious name I utter
and in all earnesty I sing your praise
your wondrous light the clouds of doubt can scatter
and set my heart rejoicing with its rays

I am a party to each wound inflicted
your words my path through Life will always pave
when I am tested, Lord, and afflicted
your spirit grants me strength…and I am brave
may the fiery soul just keep on burning
be filled to bursting with your love and light
that I might help some other soul still yearning
for your love ….but lost in deepest night

the only mark I wish to leave behind me
is that you think me worthy of your love
to be both salt and light you have assigned me
to shine as bright as any star above
all that you give, oh Jesus, shall flow through me
come what may ..your name’s my song of praise
for heaven’s glory you have given to me
there with you beyond my counted days

Amazing Grace

Amazing grace, how sweet the sound
That saved a wrech like me
I once was lost but now I`m found
Was blind, but now I see

It was grace that taught my heart to fear
And grace my heart releaved
How precious did that grace appear
The hour I first believed

When we been there ten thousand years
Bright shining as the sun
We`ve no less days to sing Gods praise
Than when we first begun

Amazing grace, how sweet the sound
That saved a wrech like me
I once was lost but now I`m found
Was blind, but now I see

Entrust Thy Ways Unto Him

Entrust Thy ways unto him
and all thy spirit craves
The ever faithful Guardian
who guides the wind and waves
Who rules the clouds of heaven
and bids the breezes blow
He best can choose the pathway
on whitch our steps should go

Thy way is ever open
and all things serve Thy might
thine every act is blessing
Thy path unsullied light
Thy work can no man hinder
Thy purpose none can stay
since Thou to bless Thy children
through all dost make a way

What a Friend We Have in Jesus

What a friend we have in Jesus, all our sins and griefs to bear!
What a privilege to carry everything to God in prayer!
O what peace we often forfeit, O what needless pain we bear,
All because we do not carry everything to God in prayer.

Have we trials and temptations? Is there trouble anywhere?
We should never be discouraged; take it to the Lord in prayer.
Can we find a friend so faithful who will all our sorrows share?
Jesus knows our every weakness; take it to the Lord in prayer.

(trumpet solo)
Do your friends despise, forsake you? Take it to the Lord in prayer!
In His ams He`ll take and shield you; you will find a solace there.

Blessed Saviour, Thou hast promised Thou wilt all our burdens bear.
May we ever, Lord, be bringing all to Thee in earnest prayer.
Soon in glory bright unclouded there will be no need for prayer.
Rapture, praise and endless worship will be our sweet
portion there.

Thine Be the Glory

Thine be the glory, risen, conqu`ring Son;
Endless is the bictory, Thou o`er death hast won;
Angels in bright raiment rolled the stone away,
Kept the folded grave clothes where Thy body lay.

Thine is the glory, risen, conqu`ring Son,
Endless is the vict`ry, Thou o`er death hast won.

Lo! Jesus meets us, risen from the tomb;
Lovingly He greets us, scatters fear and gloom;
Let the church with gladness, hymns of triumph sing;
For her Lord now liveth, death hath lost its sting.

Thine is the glory, risen, conqu`ring Son,
Endless is the vict`ry, Thou o`er death hast won.

No more we doubt Thee, glorious Prince of life;
Life is naught without Thee; aid us in our strife;
Make us more than conqu`rors, through Thy deathess love;
Bring us safe through Jordan to Thy home above.

Thine is the glory, risen, conqu`ring Son,
Endless is the vict`ry, Thou o`er death hast won.

Be Thou My Vision

Be Thou my vision, O Lord of my heart
Naught be all else to me, save that Thou art
Thou my best Thought, by day or by night
Waking or sleeping, Thy presence my light

Be Thou my Wisdom, and Thou my true word
I ever with Thee and Thou with me, Lord
Thou my great Father, I Thy true son
Thou in me dwelling, and I with Thee one

High King of Heaven, my victory won
May I reach Heavens`joys, o bright Heaven`s Sun
Heart of my own heart, whatever befall
Still be my Vision, o ruler of all

How Great Thou Art

O Lord my God! When I in awesome wonder
Consider all the works Thy hands have made.
I see the stars, I hear the rolling thunder,
Thy power throughout the universe displayed.
Then sings my soul, my Saviour God, to Thee;
How great Thou art, how great Thou art!
Then sings my soul, my Saviour God, to Thee;
How great Thou art, how great Thou art!

When through the woods and forest glades I wander
And hear the birds sing sweetly in the trees;
When I look down from lofty mountain grandeur
And thear the brook and feel the gentle breeze:
Then sings my soul, my Saviour God, to Thee;
How great Thou art, how great Thou art!
Then sings my soul, my Saviour God, to Thee;
How great Thou art, how great Thou art!

When Christ shall come with shouts of acclamation
And take me home, what joy shall fill my heart!
then I shall bow in humble adoration,
and there proclaim, my God, how great Thou art!
Then sings my soul, my Saviour God, to Thee;
How great Thou art, how great Thou art!
Then sings my soul, my Saviour God, to Thee;
How great Thou art, how great Thou art!

Be Thou With Them

Music and Word by J.S.Bach
English version by L.P.

Be Thou with them,
dear Lord and Father.
Their lives and souls dost Thou unite,
their lives and souls dost Thou unite.
Be Thou with them,
dear Lord and Father,
their lives and souls dost Thou unite,
their lives and souls dost Thou unite.

Oh, how blest,
are they, Thy children,
whne in Thy spirit living, moving,
they grow in love before Thy sight.
Oh, how blest,
are they, Thy children,
when in Thy spirit, living,moving,
they grow in love before Thy sight.

Be Thou with them
dear Lord an Father,
their lives and souls dost Thou unite
their lives and souls dost Thou unite.

The Water is Wide

The water is wide, I can`t get over
Neither have I the wings to fly
Give me a boat that can carry two
and both shall row, my love and I

A ship there is, she sails the sea
She`s loaded deep, as deep can be
But not so deep as the love I`m in
I know not if I sink or swim

Oh love be handsome and love be kind
Gay as a jewel when first it`s new
But love grows old and waxes cold
And fades away like the morning dew

The water is wide, I can`t get over
Neither have I the wings to fly
Give me a boat that can carry two
and both shall row, my love and I
